Spam in your email?

1. Never use a business email address for purchasing items on the web.

2. Never use a business email address to fill out any form on the web.

3. Make sure to use the spam rules in your email software (like Outlook) and use the spam rules in the web mail.   They are your only defense without high end spam filtering.

4. Never open email from people you do not recognize, even if the email says it is from you (unless you sent it).

5. Add messages to your safe senders list from people you do know.

6. In outlook contacts are automatically trusted.

7. Never post your email address on a web page, even sales@yourdomain.com will generate unwanted spam.  There are screen scrapers that grab all email addresses off web sites to send spam.

8. Don't list your company email address in any directory listings.

9. Do not forward chain email.

10. Never reply to a junk email with the remove option, it's a scam to get you on more lists.

11. Never point multiple domains towards your primary domain for email.  This gives spammers more opportunities.

Thanks
